My Egyptian cat.
This is the symbol of the goddess Bastet who represented joy, music, dance, love and fertility.

Pretty kitty!

Somehow I think that Bastet knows you appreciate her and what she represents...
SHADOW DANCE
Shadows here and shadows there,
Shadows, shadows everywhere!
Shadows left and shadows right;
Shadows dancing through the night!
Shadows crouching on the wall;
Shadows spring and shadows fall
On the unsuspecting guest,
Who thought shadows offered rest!

Shadows here and here
She is as elegant as a goddess Very nice
Funny how they clumped fertility in there with all the other good things this kitty was god of! Not sure why, but that made me laugh. Have a good SSS Miss Gemma.
This cat goes bak to ancient Egypt, the god or goddess of v=cats indeed. Our Linus has the same regal stature and attitude as this one - he tells us what to do, and we do what he wants. A perfect relationship (ay least per the cat :)
I love the Egyptian kitty, and your words to accompany the photo.
Ralph is right ~ our Linus has us wrapped around his little paw.
I'm glad I finally discovered how wonderful cats are! I didn't have a feline friend until I was in my 40s..
Happy shadow seeking;-)
I, too, love the Egyptian kitty and your words are always delightful! Terrific shadow shot for the day, Gemma! Hope you've had a great weekend!

That's cool! I like all that goddess Bastet represents!
I bet it's so cold where you are. It's cold in Brissy right now but compared to your temps I'm sure I don't have it quite so tough! Stay warm my friend!
That Bastet, from the sound of her description, she's quite the party animal...quite the beauty though!!!
Good for Australia, our government is so corrupt and run by horrific corporations that rule our congress, it's become quite the joke over here. Just read where one of our nuclear power plants is leaking toxic water into a river at 2 gallons an hour, may not sound like much TO THEM, but to us(the little people) it sounds like Fukushima. If we only knew half the truth about our aging power plants...have you got a spare bed...me n Scratchy n the chickens are moving to Australia!!!
You sound so chipper in your email, even though it's a cold winter day, the healing process must be working well for you...not gonna let nothin' like a little ol' broken bone stop ya, may slow ya down a bit, but that ain't all bad...I'm on garden break right now, very hot out there, I hope there's a rain storm a brewin', we sure need it, it's either feast or famine!
The chickens are all corralled in the Hilton, so me and the heathen are gonna take a little drive in the country and down by the river, I'm looking for some cool driftwood for some projects...never a dull moment in my neck o the woods...take care dearest friend, I'm thinkin' of ya over here in polluted USofA...cough, cough, choke!!!
Ginormous hugs sista...s
Hey, while I'm thinking about it, send me an email that you would feel free to give out, I'd love to talk to ya more on a regular basis...

What a regal goddess! Beautiful shot, Gemma.
I'm a dog person (guess that would be a jackal - dogheaded god - in Egyptian lore?), but I really like this cat!!
-Kelly
very elegant
Nice photo and shadow on the wall.
Regards!
You statuette is wonderful Gemma, as are your words to accompany it. When visiting Egypt five years ago, I was boggled by how much beauty we saw, from the immense dignity of the pyramids to the tiniest of artifacts in the Cairo Museum...the sense of history was palpable. Your photo took me back to the timlessness I felt, and the knowledge that all life is connected....
