Wow! Beautiful photo Gemma! These little guys must be very comfortable around you to allow you to get that close! Cockatoos are perfect subject matter for our Aussie Day weekend. I'm even imagining that he has vegemite smeared on his piece of bread :)
OH..I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Cockatoo shadow shot. I never get the chance to take pictures this close..I'll need to get to the zoo to do that. Happy Sunday Gemma :D
..and hey harriet comment on the vegemite..hahaha!!!
I am always amazed at these beautiful creatures just outside your door...amazing!
When I walked outside this morning, it was so cold, but I heard a bird call in the distance. It was the call of the male cardinal looking for a mate. This call is never heard this early in the season, but possibly herolding in an early spring for us poor pilrims, boy would that be a miracle...you just have to listen, the signs are always there. Maybe there is a sign to your kookaburras too.
We are so lucky to be able to see and feel the signs...have a wonderful week friend!

Of course there was Vegemite on the bread, but it was quickly dissolved in the stubby of beer - what else would a beautiful cockatoo do to celebrate Australia Day?
Are those little fellas really outside your door? I can't even imagine that! They are so white, a perfect canvas for a sweet little shadow.
Our neighbor has a pet Cockatoo that she lets outdoors in the summer. Boy can that thing make a racket. I can't imagine a whole flock of them! At least you can shoo them away if they get too annoying!
what a lovely character & perfect shadow shot!
happy sunday.
Your lucky to own lovely cockatoos.
I really love this birdies. They are cozy.

Sadly, we only see cockatoos in cages over here. Love seeing them all outside in your photo!
Wow! Beautiful photo! :-)
Nice to see that you are starting to make friends with them. Can't believe how cool it would be to have such animals just behind window.
Great posers also, I'd be happy to see more of them:)

Ouf birds are not as exotic as yours, that's for certain. How nice that you're able to photograph them close up.
