A part of the model Tudor village in the Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne.
The Village which is situated in the centre of the Fitzroy Gardens, was modelled in cement by Mr. Edgar Wilson, a 77 year old pensioner who lived in Hamilton Road, Norwood, London, England, who carried out the task as a hobby. He built three such villages. One of them which he presented to the City of Melbourne through the City of Lambeth, England, in appreciation of Melbourne’s generosity in sending food to Britain, during the Second World War.

Such a nice B&W post!
I never knew that part of history about Melborne sending food to Britain, thanks for the link. I don't use the word 'charming' too often, but it would definitely fit this photo. Thanks Gemma.
A very generous gift, nicely photographed!
A miniature village?
I like it a lot.
Nice in B&W.
Have a nice day.

Looks like an interesting place to visit. Great B&W shot :)
Wow, he must have been deeply moved to build this model, in cement none the less! Nice!
I didn't know about this village and its history. What a great story, and a fine photo too!
