AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

In passing...

In passing I saw
Just humble carport shadows
Weave simple magic

Terrific shadow shot! The chair in the shadow looks SO much bigger than the real one!! Love it! Hope your weekend is going well, Gemma!

The Oz sun is strong, the shadows long. The chair in shadow looks so oversized that our shadows need to be long enough too so we can relax on the hot day. Nice!

It's fun finding shadows in passing..without even trying. That happened to me the other day.

Have a good week, Gemma!

This is LOVELY - the photo, the artistic eye that saw it, and the wonderful haiku - you captured a lovely moment.

There's something very magical about shadows that loom far larger than their objects, isn't there?

Hope you had a great Australian Day. Did you get a free breakfast? Yummm... I prefer the BBQ, OZ way.

Great wrecker chair showing it's best.

Happy SSS2,

Even just a plain chair throws off great shadows.

Sometimes the simplest objects create the best shadows. Great capture.

Simple and elegant a shadow if you ask me.

I am sure the original is elegant but the shadow really makes it look extra ELEGANT! Great composition, too.

The simplicity would have been lost had you not had your camera in hand.
