October is Scarecrow Festival time on the Mornington Peninsula.
There are many fascinating interpretations of scarecrows to be found around Red Hill.
These versions are mask-like faces on decorative boards that have been added to colourful posts gracing the side of Arthurs Seat Road at Red Hill.

How interesting that October is a time for scarecrows in Australia just as it is here in Canada. That's something I would not have guessed. They do look different from the ones seen here, though.
