AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Hanging Music

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ My windchimes hanging from my verandah railing.
They hang here rather than higher because Dromana is prone to strong sea winds and the chimes can crash rather than ring!

The joy of windchimes
Like unfinished symphonies
Sweet rings for the soul

National Poetry Month Day 2 ~ Poetic Pieces of Life ~ Winds

Pic by x-horizon on Deviant Art ~ With the Wind
~
Wild grey winds open morning
Winter scrambles in autumn
Worried trees bow in numbness
Wimpy petals in lost flight
Windows mist in early chill
Whining for lost summer days
Windchimes for some far lost fires

Poetic Pieces of Life ~ Windchimes

(Pic by Kurosan on Deviant Art ~ Tear Drop Windchime)

The chime can sing so softly in a breeze

A bamboo melody; a glass or metal song

And yet I feel a sense of limpid tears

For some far ancient choir; a note gone wrong

At times the music seems a listless rhyme
Just seeping from some endless sphinx-like shame
It wimpers and it sighs through churning time
As if it longs to find some cosmic aim
While I can only helpless hear the tune
And wonder on the wonder of unknowns
And hope I feel the peace of wisdom soon
Before the day becomes like coldest stone
The winsome song of chimes is magical
Defeating shades of all that's logical
