AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Lonely Pink Shoes

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ These shoes were neatly arranged on a small hill by a pathway near parked cars at Schnapper Point, Mornington Peninsula.
There seemed to be no reason why.
The pathway was near a pier and across the carpark area was a beach.

Sparkling Waters

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ It is so strange that when there are grey clouds with sun breaking through, if the waters of Port Phillip Bay are fairly calm, they sparkle with radiant light!
This photo is taken at Dromana, Mornington Peninsula.
On the left of this view is the opening from the bay (The Rip) to Bass Strait and across the strait is Tasmania.
To the right is Melbourne.

A Place to Relax

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Even in cooler weather, as long as the sun is shining, Dromana beach, Mornington Peninsula, with views of Port Phillip Bay, is a great place for relaxation.
I feel very lucky to live in this world!

A Queenscliff Street Scene

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Here is a street scene of Queenscliff, a very old preserved settlement on the Bellarine Peninsula, Port Phillip Bay.
This peninsula is opposite my Mornington Peninsula on Port Phillip Bay.
The two peninsulas circle the bay like embracing arms.

A Red Hill Home

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Many homes at Red Hill, Mornington Peninsula (Victoria, Australia) are two storey and have wide verandahs.
Red Hill is a sprawling country village.
