Fawkner Park

A summer view of inner Melbourne buildings from Fawkner Park, opposite the huge Alfred Hospital.
The park was named after Melbourne's co-founder, John Pascoe Fawkner, and first reserved in 1862.
Fawkner Park remains largely unchanged from its original design.

breathing new life...

Not often do I like the caption on a real estate sign, but I love the caption on this one.
Even the Flynn and Co. website has a pleasant ambience with its rotating banner.

trails...

After a boat passes by and after the initial frothy wake,
there is a soft watery moment that is quite enchanting..
This photo was taken at Martha Cove marina.

it's a heat wave...

These are today's summer morning skies before another heat wave predicted to be 44 degrees centigrade.
(Yesterday morning's pre heat wave skies are on my Mornington Peninsula blog HERE.)
There is a kind of eerie light mist.
This is the 4th day in a row of heat wave conditions.
So far, my peninsula has had one fire which was promptly water bombed.

Hot Morning

Early yesterday, the summer temperature for the day was already high.
(The temperature reached 43 degrees centigrade.)
And people were heading for water.
This photo was taken at Dromana beach.

sleek red bike...

I so love motorbikes.
I don't know where the passion comes from, but clearly I have passed it on to my son who recently took ownership of one.
So I just console myself with taking pictures of them at every opportunity.

eckersley...

Sign on a fence at Balnarring Beach
I like the simple letter element of the sign coloured with hints of a flower.
Clearly, this Eckersley sign is a portable version.
When I checked out the Eckersley website, I found that they even had their own blog,
including references to garden magazines.
My favourite post was Whose for a cuppa?

Today's skies are just a rather uninteresting bland grey.
But I see a small chink of sunlight.
There is hope.
