Naked Japan?

A sign at Moorabbin, an inner suburb of Melbourne.
I have not wandered Moorabbin before, so I was shocked to see this sign.
When I checked the menu displayed on the window, it seemed that a wide range of Japanese foods were offered at very cheap prices.
Perhaps that's the connection with the words in the sign - barest cost?

It would be interesting to hear the explanation of the sign from the owner.

Odd choice of words indeed, but it serves the purpose; I too would have looked into the restaurant and menu. Maybe it means genuine Japanese food, not fancied (dressed) up for western tastes?

I'm thinking "purist," all fresh food, no additives perhaps? No doubt, the sign leaves a lot to the imagination.

I like Sallie's explanation. I think it is just getting harder to find original names for businesses.

Or it is just to grab your attention?

That sign caught my attention. Perhaps that's just what they wanted. Great find.

curious adjective for a cafe! hmm, do you suppose the word got lost in translation?
