Love the shadow and the play of light and shade.
So many (guys, generally) have to have the perfect lawn, from luscious green grass to perfectly manicured shrubbery. Yet here, the back of the yard by the fence looks like ours - full of nature, such a logs and the tall grass (looks familiar :). So, normal, natural and unkempt are the scene, in subject and shadow. Perfectly normal says I...
this spot looks so very inviting and cool, like a place to lay down and rest. you've captured some gorgeous light and moody shadows here. happy SSS Gemma, and have a wonderful weekend.
This is a gorgeous shadow shot, Gemma! I like the irregular leaves and shadow in contrast to the regular pattern created by the fence. Plus the various shades of green and the lovely light make this an appealing photo.
What a lovely shadow shot, Gemma! Soft and restful! Lovely words as always! I love it! Hope your weekend is going well! Enjoy!
Sylvia
Interesting shot.
Absolutely lovely shot!
wow very nice
Lovely picture. The tree's shadow is so crisp and clear on the fence. Thanks for sharing!!
A charming photo, Gemma, and I love the allusion to a painted mural...apt indeed:)
A beautiful shadowy mural! It looks like that pile of wood against the fence is chopped and ready for a fireplace :)
Have a great week Gemma!
This is a really pretty shadow shot! Wow. I like the softness of the leaves contrasted with the straight lines of the fence.
The branch hanging over the fence just pops right out of the photo.
I'm guessing late afternoon sunlight?
Thanks for stopping by, and no, I never leave a link to my post (read your message above :))
G-day dear friend, I again sit under a black, black cloud with my hand on the plug to off the computer if the storm gets too bad...such is the way of it with summer storms in the heartland, but now my garden needs to dry out so I can lay straw mulch down to hinder the weeds, today I cut and freeze broccoli...YUMMM!
I ordered a small, electric garden tiller last week, hope it comes soon, these old hands find it more and more painful to do the heavy work of tilling by hand, this way I can easily expand the garden to really supply me with the winter store of good organic foods that I will need in the long winter months...it's always about the survival in the winter months, especially as the economy continues to falter. It's really bad in our blue-collar city, I fear things will never go back to the old ways, as governments becomes more corrupt and we just become numbers...so sad!
But I take one day at a time, lingering in the beauty and lushness of summer, this is the time I fully bloom, so many projects to fulfill and I love every minute of it. I'm so much like my Dad and Grandad, they never stopped working, it was always a project in the making, I fear that is me as well!
So glad you got to take that walk, I don't get to do many drives these days, gas is too high and the roads I travel are graveled and REALLY bad right now, but I get my greatest pleasure listening to my fledgling rooster crow his funky teenage crow, it's too funny...ahhh, life in the farm lane...if only Australia were a hop, skip and a jump, we'd be walking buds!
Have a wonderful safe week dearest friend, soggy heartfelt hugs from the USofA...s
A beautiful mural it is!
Yes, the shadows made quite a lovely mural along the fence! I really like the lighting and composition of this shot.
Love how the light and the shade effect the shot. Someone is ready for a nice fire in the fireplace. The way the leaves are shadow dancing is lovely. Such a nice capture.
What a totally enchanting shadow shot. I am so glad you had your eyes open for this beauty. It is like an artist's painting.
