Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ The wild winter weather has abated a little and the cockatoos are returning to our verandah looking for food.
We still only feed them occasionally (not with sunflower seed because they become agro, fight and generally embark on ballistic escapades! Imagine up to 50 or more cockatoos doing this!)

The cockatoo in the last pictures seems to be holding his meal like a human. These are some great shots. I don't think I'd like being there when they were fighting. Hope all is well.
The cockatoos are incredibly beautiful and fascinating. Thanks so much for giving us a peek into living with cockatoos around.
what a privilege to have such interesting birds on your veranda.. great shots!!
I love these little guys! He sure looks like he's enjoying his snack :)
nice :-) im not much of a bird fan, but these are cute!
Lovely photos - cockatoos - they're just too cute. I imagine there's quite a hoohah when they start fighting, though.
Those are beautiful shots. I can't imagine being visited by that many at a time!
Your photos are wonderful. Yes, I can imagine the noise of 50 of them. In our old neighborhood, we had feral parrots, but no cockatoos. I think you're lucky to have them.
Lovely pictures! I wonder what is in sunflower seeds to make them so aggressive?
very interesting post!
How lucky you are to get such lovely visitors to your feeders, great shot.
That is amazing! All I get are pigeons or crows! I would love to see some cockatoos on my balcony!
